Saskatchewan Ghost Towns

We travelled through some of the rural areas outside of Saskatoon, visiting ghost towns, small towns and abandoned buildings.

If you decide to do this too, please be careful.

    1. Hard to say. The old estate (album called Random 3) and Cazalet were both cool because they were obviously once extremely wealthy and now it’s all crumbling. Kinley was fun because everything was still there from when the post office closed in 1991.
We hear there’s some great whole abandoned towns in SE SK, near the Alberta border, along the railway lines. We want to head out to them one day.

      1. If you head to Alberta please stop in at our little ghost town, Del Bonita, Alberta which is also a border town. We are rebuilding the old stores one by one, see http://www.delbonita.com for lots of pictures!

      2. I was once in your random 3 house, but it still had furnishings and the ornate oak pocket doors, the upstairs closets were full of clothes and books were scattered everywhere, very strange as it appeared that everyone just left one day and never returned, there was even an old rotary phone still there, it is sad to see the destruction that has happened since, it looked much different than how you photographed it, never did explore the basement as it was flooded, The feudal house was also once filled with personal belongings, but also has a sad story attached, it no longer exists as the property has changed hands and has been redeveloped. I also enjoy checking out old buildings, and quite enjoyed looking at your albums.

  2. Hi

These photos are amazing. I am curious, Do you have any rage / site addresses for the houses you photographed in Keppel, SK ? My Granparents had a farm there from the late 1920’s until they came to Ontario in 1942. Thier farm was at S 15-34-13 W3. Don’t know if there are markings or not. Just asking if you know. Wouldn’t it be such a small world if you actually had a pic of thier place ? Great work.
    Cheers

    1. Hi Steve,
We don’t have exact placement markings for the places we visited, no. Here’s a link to a picture of the map we were following:

We basically went to the place on the map and photographed whatever buildings were there.
That would be super neat if it were your Grandparent’s old home!
